At Bukkapatnam, Sathya joined the VIII standard for the Elementary School Leaving Certificate (ESLC) course on the 5th of July 1941. His name 'Sathyanarayana' was entered under Serial No. '466' in the Admission Register. He studied in Form 1 in the Middle School at Kamalapuram, and later joined Standard VIII in the Higher Elementary School at Bukkapatnam. (It may thus be inferred that He received double promotion). Sri Kandalam Seshacharulu was the Headmaster. His other teachers were Sri M. V. J. Ratnam (Drill), Sri Lakshmaiah, Sri Mehboob Khan (English), Sri B. C. Subbannachar (English) and Sri V. C. Kondappa (Telugu). Sathya's school records at Bukkapatnam indicate that in 1942, He was not allowed to take the ESLC examination as He did not have the minimum required attendance. This could be because His brother was transferred to Uravakonda.
