Sathya stayed in the Karnam's house from 1941 to 1944, which also coincided with years of the World War II. The British government at that time was combing the country for the participants of the 'Quit India' Movement. Baba told Hislop of His being advised to stay away from the public eye for fear of being mistaken for one of those 'trouble shooters'. During the period of His disappearance, there were many frantic searches.
