Sathya had an inborn interest in music, dance and drama. Street Operas were His first love and very early in His life, He had played feminine roles in several plays with mythological or scriptural themes. Sathya had participated in dramas like 'Kanakadhara' and 'Lava Kusa' along with His cousin Subbaraju. During World War II the District Collector permitted Sathya to enact these two dramas at the Kothacheruvu festival. The proceeds from the ticket sales went to the war fund. At His Bukkapatnam school, Sathya played the role of Krishna in the play, 'Bhookailasam'. In 1939 at Brahmanapalli, Sathya sang and danced in the play 'Kanakadhara'. In 1940, at Janakampalli, Sathya acted in the play 'Krishna Leela' along with Sri Subbaraju and Sri Narayana Reddy. Sathya wrote 2 plays 'Cheppinattu Chestara' and 'Parijathapaharanam'. The second play was staged in the house of Sri Narasimha Das at Uravakonda. This was a private performance by Sathya. Sri. G. Narasimha Das and his sister Smt. Subburathnamma acted along with Sathya in this play.
