Many years later, Sri Seshama Raju narrated the strange happenings that preceded the declaration. A change came over Sathya after the Hampi visit. Sri Seshama Raju was blinded by the effulgence in Sathya's face as he cast away his books. The parents were called for from Puttaparthi, and it took them 3 days to reach Uravakonda. Meanwhile, Sathya moved into the garden of the Excise Inspector's bungalow. Sathya neither uttered a single word, nor touched a morsel of food. People began pouring in to have Darshan of Sathya. He began His mission right away by teaching the people the means of traversing this Samsara (ocean of worldly life). He most lovingly taught them the Bhajan Manasa Bhajare Guru Charanam (Oh Mind! Worship the Lotus Feet of the Guru and cross the ocean of this worldly life). When His parents arrived, He washed their feet. Sathya mixed all the food served by Mother Eswaramma and made it into 3 morsels. While eating the food, He declared, "Maya is gone." A bright light flashed and disappeared into the wall behind Him as He declared thus.
