1939

Bhagawan Baba once narrated an interesting incident about Mr. Wolf Gregoriwich Messing, a Polish Jew Mentalist, and this incident Baba had not revealed until then. A spiritual yearning in Messing drew him towards India. Several years of Sadhana (spiritual practices) culminated in deep-rooted spiritual wisdom. Baba would say that Wolf Messing could truly announce that he had attained a constant awareness of Atma, being ever conscious of that Supreme Unifying Principle.

Baba said, "After he entered India, he boarded a train that was going from Cuddappah to Anantapur. Enroute the train stopped for a while at Kamalapuram, and I, who was studying in Kamalapuram at that time, happened to be at the railway station along with my friends Ramesh and Suresh. Wolf Messing saw Me through the window of the train, rushed towards Me, and sat in front of Me shedding tears of ecstasy. My friends were afraid that he would kidnap Me. As Messing was approaching Me, Ramesh brought his father in a jeep and took Me away to his house. Messing followed the jeep and reached the place where I was taken. He sat in front of Ramesh's house waiting to see Me through the window. He would smile at Me and try to convey something to Me. No one allowed him to meet Me. He waited for three days and then went away. Before leaving, he wrote on the door of the house with a piece of chalk - 'The people of this house are indeed fortunate to have with them this Divine child. I am not that fortunate. Anyway thanks.'

"He went back to Russia and returned after 20 years. He brought along a Kirlian camera, which was capable of photographing the 'aura' around human beings. Having discovered that I was at Bangalore, he came to have My Darshan. After Darshan, he went and requested the Principal of Sri Sathya Sai College Brindavan, Sri Narendra, and his father Justice Damodar to arrange for him to meet Me. He told them, "Swami is God. You all are seeing only His physical form. You will know the truth when you observe His aura".

"When I gave Darshan from the balcony he clicked with his camera and could see that the entire place was permeated with light which symbolised purity. In the evening a meeting was arranged and he was asked to address the students. I was present there. He saw Me and coming near Me said, 'You are everything to me. I am Your instrument.' He stayed there for ten days and I taught him all that he needed to learn. He wrote a book in Russian and gave it to Dr. Gokak and left India without informing anyone. He wrote a letter to Narendra saying, 'You are fortunate to be working for God. Please keep me informed about Swami.' One fine day Messing arrived when I was with Narendra, had My Darshan and went away just as suddenly as he appeared. No one knew how he came and how he left. It was a mystery. Indeed Divinity is highly mysterious.
