Sathya's grandfather Sri Kondama Raju would hold religious discussions with Sathya, who appeared even at that young age, to be conversant with the scriptures. The grandfather therefore considered Sathya a 'Brahmajnani' (knower of Supreme Truth). In 1933, when Sathya's grandmother Smt. Lakshmamma passed away, Sathya shifted to his grandfather's home, and took over the household responsibilities. He was just 7 years old when He started preparing vegetarian food for Himself and His grandfather.
